    Greetings EHS Students and Families,

I am honored to serve you and your families as part of the Everman High School administrative team. My daily goal is to partner with the students, caregivers, teachers, and the community of Everman to extend and provide quality educational experiences that prepare all of our students for college, career, entrepreneurial, or military service.

I am the daughter of a United States Marine and have lived in four different states and over 20 cities, including Everman! I finally put down roots in Fort Worth, Texas, where I have raised four amazing young adults, three sons, and one daughter while attending college and earning an advanced degree. I am currently a doctoral student at Tarleton State University, where my research focus is educational leadership and equity in schools.

This is my 13th year of service in public education. I have served as a teacher, mentor, and Instructional Support Specialist in Crowley ISD, Eagle Mountain Saginaw ISD, and Lancaster ISD. When I am not serving at school, I am active in community service work with RCT Pulse Ministries, Safe Place, and the North Texas Food Bank.

If we have not had the opportunity to meet in person, I look forward to getting to know you and your family this year. My favorite quote describes my firm belief and testimony that education is a road to empowerment:

“Empower yourselves with a good education, then get out there and use that education to build a country worthy of your boundless promise.” -Michelle Obama

    Sincerely,
    Joy C. Avery, M.Ed.
