Associate Principal - Dr. Zelmarian Ready

    Hello, Bulldog Family!

I am excited and humbled about being the Associate of Academics at Everman Joe C. Bean High School. With over thirty years of experience as a teacher and an administrator, I have discovered two reoccurring themes:

    1. A rigorous curriculum is a key to academic success and productive citizenship.
    2. Academic improvement for students occurs by minimizing educational gaps, nurturing social and emotional needs, and ensuring a safe learning environment.

Thus, my personal goal is to serve your students with the aforementioned in mind while supporting our district and school policies and procedures.

My teaching career began in Dekalb County Schools in Decatur, Georgia. I have also been a teacher and administrator in Jackson Public Schools in Jackson, Mississippi, a teacher at Bowie High School in Arlington, Texas, and most recently, an administrator in Mansfield ISD.

I obtained a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and a Master of General Science Education from Alcorn State University in Lorman, Mississippi. I have also received a specialist degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Southern Mississippi and a Doctorate of Educational Administration from Texas A&M University-Commerce.

My husband, Funtrol, and I are the proud parents of three adult children and a daughter-in-love; Devan, Will, Lauren, Joy, and one grandchild, Journee.

I anticipate a great year and look forward to meeting each of you.
