Greetings Charles Baxter Junior High School Families and Community!

Welcome to the 2023-24 school year!  It is an honor and a priviledge that I bring you greetings, as we embark upon a new school year! I am extremely excited to serve as Principal of Baxter Junior High School!  I am entering my fourth year as a principal in Everman ISD, and my first year as Principal of BJH!   I am originally from Louisiana, but my family and I moved to Texas in 2006. I have two children (Antonio and Peyton) and a granddaughter (Zoe). I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in English Education, a Master of Science degree in Educational Administration, and currently enrolled in my third year of graduate school, pursuing a Doctorate degree in Educational Administration. Over the past 20 years, I have worked as a teacher and administrator, with fifteen of those years in Everman ISD. I spent nine years at Everman High School as an English teacher, AVID teacher and AVID Coordinator, and then as the 12th Grade Assistant Principal. I also spent three years here at Baxter Junior High School as the 8th Grade Assistant Principal.

We, the staff,  will continue to work hard to continue the legacy of success established long ago by building strong relationships with parents, students and community partners.  We will continue a strong focus on character education initiatives, the social and emotional well-being of our students, the use of data to drive instruction, and provide consistent implementation of high quality instructional materials in a rigorous manner so that we can continue to ERASE ALL learning gaps that the pandemic caused. .

We will continue to celebrate our successes, both small and large. We will continue to encourage and motivate our students every day, and let them know they are valued and have a special place in our school community. Not only am I excited to work with our students, but I look forward to the work we will do together. My goal is to ensure that all students are happy and safe, so that they are able to learn as much as they can each day.

As the principal of Baxter Junior High School, it is important to me that everyone who steps through our doors-teachers, students, parents, and community partners are excited to be here!  This attitude enables us to meet the challenges of academic excellence in a positive, fun, and nurturing environment.  My door is always open and I welcome your input.  Please feel free to call or email me to discuss any concerns you might have throughout the school year.

    Warm Regards,
