October's Message

I am excited we completed a successful first six weeks of school with the students and staff continuing to work hard each day.  As the students arrive on campuses, I can see their smiles and the joy on their faces as they engage in the classroom.

As we begin our second six weeks of school, parents please remember that daily student attendance is critical to your child’s success at school. Our district initiative this year is to Erase The Gaps in learning caused by the COVID pandemic; therefore, we need our students at school each day in order to address their academic and social emotional learning needs.  Unless your child is ill, please send them to school.  Attendance matters!

Also, please know that the safety and the well-being of our students and staff continues to be our number one priority. In regards to the pandemic and other communicable diseases, please continue to screen your child each day for COVID-19 symptoms as well as symptoms for other communicable diseases such as the flu. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your child’s school.

In addition, it takes all stakeholders working together as a team to meet the needs of our students and to ensure everyone’s safety. I ask each of you, if you see or hear something; say something!  If you have any information you would like to share regarding safety, please contact your child’s school or the Student Services Department.  Also, reports and tips can be submitted anonymously through our STOPIt app which can be found on our website.

As a reminder, we have upcoming district professional development and holidays in October.   The professional development day is October 8, 2021 (no school for students), and October 11, 2021, is a districtwide holiday, all campuses and facilities will be closed.   We encourage everyone to wear facemasks to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19, and especially while indoors and after returning from an extended weekend break.

Thank you once again for your support and all that you do to ensure that we continue to move our students beyond limits each day!  We are truly stronger together!
